Frequently Asked Questions

• Do I need previous experience in handling guns or shooting?
Absolutely not! We pride ourselves on making sure that everyone who attends our days has the best experience possible. For novice shots, this includes all provision of an instructor (at extra cost).
Do I need a gun?
Guns will be supplied on request.
What Equipment should I bring?
Ear and eye protection will be supplied. We recommend a hat be worn as well, branded hats may be provided at a cost.
Do you supply cartridges?
Cartridges will be supplied on request; otherwise we expect all experienced guns to bring their own.
What Should I wear?
Please dress accordingly to the weather, and in expectation of the changeability of our weather!
Do I need to bring food and drink?
Refreshments will be provided throughout the day including lunch.
Do I need an off road vehicle?
4 x 4 Vehicles can be provided at extra cost to transport you from drive to drive.
How safe is it?
We ensure that a safety marshal is present for the day and that all novice shots have an instructor provided with them throughout the day (at extra cost). All drives have been individually checked to ensure the utmost safety will be observed at all times.
What is a drive?
A drive is the term u sed when the quarry is flushed over the guns and the time spent shooting them. We aim to replicate the presentation of game throughout the day e.g. grouse partridge pheasant.
How will I know that it is safe to shoot?
We have a briefing at the start of the day, which will be reinforced throughout the day. Our experience has allowed us to adopt a water tight safety routine that will not interrupt your day.
do I need specialist insurance?
We have insurance which covers each gun for indemnity against accident or injury.
Will the gun give me a bruise?
If you are a novice shot, your instructor will show you the correct way to mount your gun, this should not lead to any bruising. We usually carry shoulder pads for reassurance purposes only. If you are an experienced gun, you should not be concerned!
